The Institute for Municipal and Governmental Training and
the Acoustic Consulting Engineering firm SS Wilson Associates
are pleased to announce holding of regularly
scheduled courses and training seminars that are specifically
designed for the job responsibilities of municipal
and government officials charged with mandates that involve
acoustics, noise and vibration control.
The offered courses are designed as separate packages for
numerous governmental applications involving acoustic, noise
and vibration control to include land use planning, enforcement
of municipal noise by-laws, transportation planning, environmental
assessments, environmental approvals, building science, occupational
health and safety, facility management and natural resources
facilities.
The courses are also custom designed to cater to the Program
Managers/Directors, Project Managers and the front line staffs
separately by balancing the course contents and the number
of days to suit all levels of responsibility.
The Institute is proud to have trained numerous Provincial and
Municipal Government employees such as one or more
professional(s) from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment,
The County of Middlesex, The Regional Municipality of Durham,
Town of Oakville, City of Vaughn, City of Stratford, City of
Mississauga, The Town of Bradford,Region of Halton, City of Windsor,
City of Kingston, Town of Aurora, City of Brampton, City of London,
Regional Municipality of York and City of Ottawa.
With the increase demand for training a group of employees from one government agency, the Institute demonstrated its great flexibility to custom design the course delivery location and timing to suit the specific needs of each government office. Examples include:
• Distributing the 5 day course into several weeks to minimize work interruptions.
• On-location delivery within the government offices
• Development of custom designed courses to suit the specific needs, policies and wishes of the agency.
Our most recent successful example is training of four of the Town of Markham Noise By-Law officers over a period of 5 weeks (one day per week) including field visits to areas of interest to the Town.
The other successful example is delivery of a one day intensive seminar on transportation noise to over 15 staff members of York Region Transportation Department in the Region offices.
Please contact us to advise you of the details, fee structure and how to custom design our schedule, course contents and locations to suit your needs.
